AI demos are built to impress. That is their job. But a smooth demo is not always proof that a product works well for normal people.
What demos can hide
A company may try the demo many times before showing the best result. It may load extra instructions ahead of time. It may also leave out the parts that failed.
That does not mean every demo is dishonest. It just means viewers should ask better questions before treating the demo as proof.
Simple demo questions
- Was this shown live or as a recording?
- How many tries did it take?
- What setup was already in place?
- What did not work?
- Has anyone outside the company tested it?
You can enjoy a good demo and still keep your standards high.
